Daily INSP BVD situation reports

This website holds English translated outbreak situation reports for the 2026 Ebola-BVD outbreak. These are provided by the Centre d’opérations d’urgence de santé publique (COUSP) / L’Institut National de Santé Publique (INSP).

CautionTranslated by machine, not read by a person

Every page here was translated from the French original by Google Gemini. No person has reviewed any of it.

Each page’s numbers were compared against the French transcription and the page is published only if they match, so a figure that moved in translation stops the build. Nothing checks the wording. Every page links to the original PDF: read a figure there before you rely on it, and please tell us if something is wrong.

NoteContext & use

This work is an aggregation of public data and we have no involvement in the source data.

The intention here is to provide an English translated, machine-readable, time-stamped archive of public sitrep information and data.

• Sitreps are downloaded from the publicly available INSP website
• Each PDF is transcribed into French markdown with Google Gemini, using this prompt. The French transcription is the record: it is checked against the numbers in the source PDF, and nothing is translated at this stage
• The French is then translated to English with this prompt. Each translated table is checked to hold the same numbers as the French one
• The English pages are rendered here

The code is MIT licensed. The reports themselves are INSP’s, and we claim nothing over them; our transcription and translation are CC BY 4.0. See the data terms. Contributions welcome: codebase

We welcome feedback, suggestions, and collaboration: contribute directly or get in touch.

NoteData archive

• French transcriptions, one markdown file per report
• Data tables, one CSV per table
• Report manifest: the source URL and md5 of every PDF
• Quality checks: for each report, the share of numbers in the PDF found in the transcription

Tables are extracted automatically. Refer to the source PDF where anything is unclear.

Source PDFs are not stored here. Each report page links its original on the INSP website.
